Home visitation partners / local leadership group

Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  and are virtual until further notice| join committee
  • Collaborate with Saginaw County home visiting partners to ensure consistent messaging and non-duplication of efforts.
  • Lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts focused on parent involvement and engagement and retainment of families participating in home visiting programs.
  • Create a comprehensive, year-long professional development calendar for home visiting and early childhood staff/partners and continuing work on the home visiting continuum work.

Meetings: 4th Monday every other month from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. and are virtual until further notice| join committee

communications & Advocacy committee

Meetings: meetings are now virtual until further notice and dates to be determined. ​| join committee
  • Maintains GSC’s social media (including website, Facebook, etc.).
  • Provides input on GSC’s marketing and outreach (including brochures, flyers, outreach activities, etc.).
  • Provides input on ongoing GSC outreach events (Early Childhood Services Tour & Luncheon, Annual Meeting, Chalk It Up, etc.)​.

School Readiness Advisory Committee/Preschool Partnership

Meetings: 2nd Friday of each month from noon - 1:00 p.m. and are virtual until further notice.| join committee
  • Create strategies to bridge the gap between early childhood and K-3 providers.
  • Collaborate with the Great Start Readiness Program and other preschool partners to ensure that parents’ needs are being met through professional development and engagement opportunities.
  • Define school readiness and solicit input on this definition from parents, early childhood providers/administrators and K-3 providers/administrators.

parent coalition / parent leadership and support committee

Meetings: 4th Monday of every other month from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  (immediately following GSC Board meetings)
and are virtual until further notice | join committee
  • Join powerful parents that work to give the community a voice to advocate for the needs of all Saginaw County families. Together we can give all families the tools and knowledge to ensure success in school and life. 
  • Be a voice for change, enjoy training opportunities, improve family services, build knowledge and skills, open doors for employment, and network with other families and services providers. Participation reimbursement is available.
